Odd Brake issue 2001 Sebring

Our '01 Sebring is pulling to the right slightly when brakes applied at lower speeds, the steering wheel jerks about an inch although the car stops fairly straight. It does not seem to do this at higher speeds, I even made panic stops from 50+ to the point the wheels were starting to lock.
 Car tracts true, tires are inflated correctly and show no sign of uneven wear, feeling the wheels after a test drive there seems to be no noticeable difference in temperature. I put the front on jackstands to inspect & find nothing unusual, plenty of pad all about the same thickness.  Ran the car on jackstands & the same thing happens, steering wheel deflects to the right noticeably in drive when the brake is applied BUT if done in reverse the wheel deflects to the left (that really has me  )
 Nothing I have found on the internet suggests what the cause of this problem might be.

sticking caliper , bad pads or contaminated with grease or oil

You may want to look harder at the tires. rotate the rears to the front. sounds like you have a belt that has shifted. If it were a brake problem your shake would multiply the higher the speed.shifted belts always act crazy at low speeds.

I did rotate the tires when I had the fronts off and it made no difference, there is no shake just a pull & like I said it happens on jackstands so that rules out tires & suspension/alignment altogether.
I was expecting to see some sign of excessive pad ware but didn't, neither side has any oil/grease showing. I was able to easily push back the pistons so I don't think a caliper is to blame. The one thing I could not check by myself is the hoses but they appear to be solid.

Wow, this is really weird if you are on jackstands and it happens. 

Have you tried calling a couple dealers to see if they have had similar issues?

Is there any weird vacuum assist or anything with the steering rack?  Boggling...

I'll second CP's sticking caliper suggestion. I'm thinking, if the caliper is sticking, it resists clamping the disc for a small amount of time before it 'pops' from it's resting position and then catches up with the other caliper as far as braking force. You then have even braking pressure on both sides, so you stop straight after the initial tug to the side.

As usual it's one step forward two steps back. The good news is there seem to be no issue with the brakes.
  I had bled the brakes just to see what would happen and while testing the result on jackstands the pull was sill there so I decided to stick my head over the door to see what I could see and what I saw was the whole front end moved when I applied the brake. Peering over to the engine the whole thing jumped up when the brakes are applied...Fatigued engine mount was a fair bet so I took the front one off and sure enough there were cracks in the rubber so I tracked one down at the auto zone and put it on. The pull in drive was virtually illuminated, the engine did not jump but in reverse the pull is still there and if any thing the engine jumped more than before and made an awful racket.   SOO I crawl under there and get all the bolts out to pull the rear mount off but MA didn't make this one for easy service.. I've searched the web and can't find directions so I suppose I'll be doing some exploratory surgery to see how this thing can come out.

Does seem like it might be but I thrashed it pretty hard the other day and the car was stable in a panic stop as well as driving like it always has.   Guess these FWD things are all so interconnected one loose piece brings the whole thing down.
