My stainless fornt and rear window trim, and the stainless door rain gutter trim looks horrible and needs buffing

Any recommendation/advise on removing the trim?

The drip rail trim is fairly straight forward.  I've never removed the front/rear glass trim but it involves bending the spring clips slightly so they reliece the trim.

To remove the side trim, you need to remove the weather stripping from the channel at the top of the roof.  Be careful so you don't tear the weather stripping.  The repop weather stripping is expensive and it doesn't fit nearly as good as the original part.  Once that is removed, you'll see a bunch of philips head screws that need to be removed.  That holds on the weather stripping channel.  Once that is removed, you'll see a few screws that hold on the drip rail trim.

There are some foam gaskets between weather stripping channel and the drip rail trim.....as well as bewteen the body and the drip rail trim.  The gaskets can make removing the trim a little tricky.  Just take your time and don't force them off.  New foam gaskets are available from DMT.(Detroit Muscle Technologies)

HI, sorry to bring back an old post, but I am just wondering about the screws that attach the weatherstrip channel to the roofline?
Are they a philips panhead? are they chrome?

thanks everyone!

Yes, they are a philips head.  There are teeth under the head as well.  I think they are chrome but I can't remember for sure.  They could have been clear zinc plated.  It really doesn't matter unless it's going to bug you.  The side window weatherstripping covers the screws.

Don't pry with a screwdriver between the glass and the trim. The glass is likely to crack. Mine did...
Use a piece of plastic, maybe a couple of layers of old credit cards. Locate the position of the clips. Press the plastic between the body and the trim. The clip will then bend. The trim is hooked on to the clip. The increased gap will allow the trim to unhook.  :2cents:
