Converting my 72 cuda to new SRT8 motor and tranny
« on: August 14, 2012 - 10:45:40 AM »
Hello all. New poster here. I have a few questions. I recently did a frame off on my Cuda and got it all restored. Now I am looking to pull out the 340 and 727, and convert it over the the SRT8 engine and trans. Can you fine folks help me out on what all will be needed to finish this project? Motor mounts, tranny mounts, harness, etc? Ive tried googling it, but sadly, I have come up with nothing useful. Maybe I am just getting retarded with computers, I'm not sure.

Thanks a bunch! :wavingflag:

I did a 3 of 4 frame rail off(and replace) restoration on my challenger does that count? Lol, you think he got it mixed up with a GM thingy. Just poking fun. Im in the process of doing just that, a 6.1l and keisler tranny swap.

I always laugh when I see the Mopar eBay ads "Fresh frame off restoration, asking $80,000" get it while you can.. Ya right haha

Ha! True. I see your point. Not a frame off, just seems that what everyone understands better by a full restoration. Pretty much every single part has been updated or replaced. But I got the motor and trans bought. One step closer to getting this finished. Just trying to get it all done before our first child gets here in 5 months. After that, wife says my spending on the cars will come to a halt. :swear:
