How picky should I be about the bumper?

I picked up a rechromed bumper from tri-city plating at Carlisle.

The chrome is beautiful and deep.

But....

I guess the bumper must have been a repair as there is a bit of a wave on the top surface on the left side.....

It's not horrible...or even bad.....
 
It's an original bumper and is nice and heavy......

I would probably be the only one to notice.......

I guess I am just thinking out loud....

My take is since you are the only one who will notice, don't think a second about it. I have a 72 bumper on the front of my 70 Challenger that has a flaw that nobody seems to notice but me either.

yeah I say don't worry about it and keep on rockin  As long as it isn't too bad that you feel you were jipped.  I can tell you every flaw on my car. Every nick in the paint, every swirl mark, every scratch, every thing wrong, I know exactly where it is.  Thats how we as ppl that own the cars see em, but other ppl that see them see it as a whole piece and a work of art I reckon.

Well, it was $350 or so with tax.   They did pull it out of the packing for me at the meet.  I looked at the front surface and it looked perfect.  Between the heat and the number of people under that tent, I wanted to get out of there...so maybe I rushed, or just didnt see it.     

I will see if I can get a pic of it.....its the upper "body line" on the bumper if that makes sense...not the one that directly faces you, and not the very top one.....the in between...and it looks like it may have been smooshed in at one point and straightened.

Its been almost a month now since carlise too...they would probably tell me to pound salt.

The chrome on my new bumpers from Tri-City is just OK.  You can see some waves if you look right up close at them.  From a distance they will look fine.  I did see one convex dent in the rear bumper but fortunately, the bumper guard is going to cover it.  For as expensive as chrome plating is, I think Tri-Cities work is pretty good.  I could have gotten a better finish by having the work done at AIH in Dubuque but they wanted $600 per bumper.

Only you can decide what is acceptable.  If it's really going to bug you then you need to call them up and see what they'll do for you.  They'll be at the Mopar Nats in 2 weeks if you want to make the trip there to swap it out.
