V7x and Hood Question
« on: July 27, 2012 - 09:07:56 AM »
My Challenger has been gone for several months, and it's now being prepared to have all of the body work done. I finally got bored, so I decided to actually write down the options the car has and figure out what I'm planning to do with it. I have decoded it before, but just certain parts and stuff like that  :blah:. Car has the fender tag and we found the buildsheet under the backseat. Now, on to the questions I have ...

JH29L0B, just a 1970 Special Edition Challenger.

Because it's not an R/T, is it just suppose to have the flat 1970 hood? (No N96 code for Shaker).

V7X Code on the top line of the fender tag, apparently it's suppose to have black pin stripes? I've never seen this on a challenger. Does somebody have a picture?

Thanks.

An SE would have come with a flat hood.  Here is a picture from Hamtramck-Historical that shows a pinstripe.  This might be it.

That's probably a body side molding. Here's a pic of a car with the remains of the original stripe (in white). I have better pics of one at home. I'll try to post it tonight if I remember.

Thanks for the comments!

I guess an FK5 car would look pretty cool with black pins, can't wait to see how it turns out in the end. I'll save a couple of these pictures for future reference :)!
