Name that Plug..... help
« on: July 29, 2012 - 02:37:36 PM »
Hi guys,
I'm finally putting my 70 Challenger back together and came across a plug that I can not find a match for.  I was hoping someone here may recognize this and know where the under dash connection for it is.

This is the Courtesy/Map Light-Time Delay Relay harness, it feeds the Lighter, the Console Drive Selector light, and appears on page 8-100 of the 70 Challenger/Dart Service Manual, Fig. 12 (which is for a Dart?).   I do not think this harness came from a Dart, but a 72,3,4 Barracuda (there wasn't much left to identify it).  Either way, I still need to connect this to my harness and hope someone has some idea where this unique plug may be located on the unmolested original 70 Challenger harness.  I've only seen this type of plug used on the front left and right speakers before.

Thanks guys hope you can help!

I think it's for your key light /  delay?

Yes it is the courtesy lights accessory harness that provides power to several different items.   I just can't find a connection for that plug on my underdash harness.

I may have to cut it off and connect it to what the other diagram says it should go to.

I appreciate your response.

Guys do you think this harness is from a Dart?  Or just a later model E body?

Thanks,
Chris

Not sure, but my '73 is a 'later model' and I don't remember ever seeing that connector.
