Vintage Wheel Works V48 17"
« on: July 31, 2012 - 06:04:38 PM »
I've been debating what tires/wheels to get for a long time.  Was originally going to run cop car wheels or Basset stock car wheels with Mickey Thompson tires, but those tires have gone up significantly in price recently.  I think going to 17" wheels is the only way to have some performance tires options.  So, I'm thinking of getting either 17x9 with 5.5" back spacing and 275/40R17 tires or what was recommended as a safe size that will fit and not rub is 17x8 w/ 4.5" back spacing and 255/45R17.  I'd like to try running the same size wheels and tires front and back.  I have 11.75" cordoba rotors w/ Wilwood's in the front and Dr Diff Cobra rear brakes.  Also XV level 1 suspension.
Any thoughts?  Anyone out there running VWW wheels?

As soon as  I build up the "car fund" I think I'll go with these. Similiar style ... I just like them better? I hear ya and agree about 17" rims and good rubber. :2thumbs:

I also looked at the LT-III's and at PS Engineering wheels (turns out PS Engineering was bought by VWW).  Price between the V48's and LT-III's is comparable.  LT-III's have more size options.
hmmm

I sent IMINCarn8 a pm.
