Hi CC Lovers,

I own a (mechanical) Auto Meter 2347 Autogage 3 gauge and noticed that the temperature gauge doesn't raise. As I have no shroud and a wrong radiator, I'm in search for a replacement sensor. Been in CA recently but even the O'Reilly guys couldn't help.

I don't know if the sensor came with the gauge, but the gauge shows a Warning not to bend the "wire", so it must be included. Do you have any idea what sensor I'll need for a replacement? I cannot find one and sent an email to AutoMeter, but didn't get a response.

You can see it here: engine compartment (on the left side next to the radiator filling opening)

On the other side, is there a way of checking the gauge? Maybe with a little pin?

I really appreciate your answer.

If the bourdon tube is damaged leak or kink you will have to replace the gauge. Autometer will fix it but I'd just get a new one.

it is similar to electrical in that once you let the smoke out it is screwed , same with the gauge if the line is broken the gauge is toast you need a new gauge with sender

Thanks...

what I read is, that the gauge and the "wire" is one peace. First I thought I can remove the wire from the rear of the gauge, I will take a closer look directly tomorrow.

Thanks for the link brads70, now let's find a store that ships to Germany.

Can you explain how it works mechanically? I don't think that the hot water goes up to the gauge...
