Convertible wind shield differences..

I am trying to find what the differences are in the Barracuda Convertible versus Hard top frames. I know the sides are different, but how about the top/center section of the frame?

Also, are all E-Body vert wind shield frames the same?

I believe all Barracuda & Challenger windshield frames are the same.  The whole uni-body is the same except for the 2" extension in front of the rear seats for the longer wheelbase Challenger.  As for convertible vs hardtop:  The windshield from my '71 cuda hardtop dropped right into the windshield frame on my '70 convertible, so yes, they are the same.

Thanks for the reply GCC. What I was trying to ask, but didn't word very well, was this.

What are the structural differences in the tops of the frames between hardtop and convertibles. Can I use anything from the hardtop window frame to repair the convertible one if needed? I've seen what Shelbydog did on his drivers side upright, but I don't believe in my fabrication skills for such a structural piece.

It looks as though there might be rust across the top, under the moldings which I've not removed yet. So I am just trying to plan for when I start my build.

to my knowledge the cuda & chall are the same but nothing from a hard top fits the vert

That's both a relief (get to start looking amongst two years of cuda _and_ challenger verts) and a bummer (not going to be an easy find).

Well I pulled the interior trim off of the wind shield today after noticing at a car show what you see as you look through the WS is the interior trim, not the frame. The center top trim peice is toast, but the frame is salvageable.
