1970 Cuda or Grand coupe help
« on: September 30, 2012 - 09:39:27 AM »
Hi, Iam trying to do some research on a 1970 Cuda i once owned my years ago the first part of the vin was BS23N0B . But it had a over head console and blk leather seats in the front and the drivers seat was able to tilt,I know that all this was factory installed and not changed by someone. It had a 383 with 4bbl,ac,at ,floor center console,ps,pb.It had the cuda badge on the rear blacked out panel .My question is could this have been a Grand Coupe car or did someone just order all this when the car was bought new in 1970?I never saw the build sheet so i can not tell?Any help would be great Thank You

Bs vins are cuda
BP vins are gran coupes someone else will have to answer the rest of the questions I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure you could order all those options

I think with the leather interior option it also came with the overhead console and the six way six.If you have wood grain on your door panels then they came from a gran coupe. You have a cuda with the option I stated.

I believe a Gran coupe also would have had the woodgrain dash if it had standard gauges.

Yes, you can have the Gran COupe options in a 'Cuda
A Mopar friend has a documented original 1970 'Cuda 440 Six Pack shaker hood,
with the GRAN COUPE options.  Over head console, front leather seats and the trim in the door.
It is an old pic our cars together my AAR and his 70 440-6.

I do know this is true for 70' deluxe optioned R & V code cars.
I'm just wanting to find out if this was true for 71' E bodies as well.

I suspect it was a 70' model e body: Exclusive order/package?

`I think it was a sheet that you would check off all the options.

I wasn't alive so I am only going by what I have seen online.

There probably would have been a book that had all the options listed and pictured though.

If you are trying to find the actual car, you will need to have the last six numbers on the vin.
Even with those vin numbers, it is very hard to find the exact car you had.

I have tried for years to find my dads original Vega GT but have had no success.

Good luck!

It shouldn't be a R & V code thing, just an option?
I believe at there wasn't roof consolette for 'Cuda with leather seats in '71 because leathers costs only $62.55 and same price for convertible too, not any mention of consolette on anywhere and haven't saw any.
