6 pack balancer identification
« on: September 03, 2012 - 03:45:27 AM »
I bought this balancer a while back and was told it was for a 6 Pack engine with the heavier rods. The holes drilled into it have obscured the part numbers so I can not confirm. Can anyone tell me if this a 6 pack balancer or a standard steel crank balancer?

Thanks,
Perry

I think the balancer has an off set weight not just holes , I would have the entire assy balanced anyway , the 6 Pack I built was all internally balanced .

:iagree:   I can dig one out and take a pic if you need to see an externally balanced one.

The reason I am asking is that I am ditching the heavy 6 pack rods for some reworked LY's. I am also switching from an externally balanced cast crank engine to an internally balanced steel crank.

The reason I ask is because I was thinking of using this balancer since it is in excellent condition. I don't want to if it performs some external balancing function for a 6 pack engine.
