can you customize a factory color?

I've been kicking around ideas for when I (eventually) get a repaint on the cuda.  It is FJ5 Lime Light, the original color and I think ill keep it that color, but was thinking of adding a metallic hint to it.   Is there any reason this can't be done? other than the increase price anything I need to consider?

I'm doing that with lemon twist. A pearl over the yellow.

I actually have seen a pearl added to sublime or lime light. It looks beautiful.

Yes, any decent paint shop can mix it up for you, or you can buy the base components and do it yourself. Looks very cool, but, if you ever have damage requiring a spot repair, it can be almosts impossible to match.

Why not use the new challenger green with envy? It's a similar metallic green and you'll always be able to reproduce the paint

Nice idea! I was thinking of that color too.  Good point with being able to reproduce the paint. 

It might be a tad darker perhaps though, not sure.  The green in the link you posted earlier is really nice, reminds me of a Hot Wheels car!  Could be the lighting but the first green "pops" more when you look at it.

I've heard that Challenger Green With Envy is very close to the 2008 Viper Snakeskin green.  Here's a thread with pictures comparing it to the 2007 Charger Sublime.

I used Nissan Apple pearl green.

Mine is painted the factory Tor-Red base and then I added a pearl to the clear.I put in just enough to give it an extra sparkle when the sun hits it but otherwise you hardly know it`s there.Matching is difficult but not impossible as I painted my spoiler to match years later but best bet is just mix some extra with no harderner and save it for any touch ups.

There are many many great colors that are already out there.  There is nothing wrong with having a paint shop mix up a custom one for you.  Any decent paint shop can match a custom paint for repairs.  What I like to do is use a pre-made paint.  The silver/gray on the car in my avatar is a 1983 Pontiac color that I picked out of a paint book.  I had the car painted twice that same color and all I had to do was to give the painter that information and my car came out the same color every time.
