'76 360 press fit wrist pins
« on: September 07, 2012 - 07:52:41 PM »
I'm replacing the rods on my 360 but want to keep the pistons and get new wrist pins, press fit. The pistons are Speed Pro ZH405CP60 and the wrist pins measure 0.984" x 3.000" and I'm having a hard time finding that size pin in 3"

Ross racing offers a 0.984" x 2.930", will these work ?

Thanks for all the help !

They would work fine, but why replace the pins. If the old one's are worn then surely the piston is worn too?
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Thx Cudaman,
I need to replace a bent rod, but I got a good deal on 8 reconditioned rods... so going to replace them all. Since I'm doing that, and adding a little more horsepower, I thought it would just be cheap insurance to just get new and better pins...

Thanks again

Why not go with a new set of rods with floating pins, they haven't done unknown million miles and could release a few extra ponies.

Yea... thought about that... but the pistons are press fit, no locking ring, so that would mean new pistons as well... and I got a really good deal on the reconditioned one's, $50 for all 8
