70 Cuda starter relay wiring
« on: November 11, 2010 - 11:13:49 PM »
My harness has been hacked to death, does anyone have a drawing or better yet pics of the wiring from the firewall to the relay?

I have a yellow wire coming throuh the firewall to the relay and from what I can tell from a wiring diagram. It should be a red wire with a fusible link going to the relay from the harness.

You should have both yellow & red-w/fusible link ....this pic is from my '73 but should work for a '70

The ground comes from being in contact with the body of the car.

Sorry meant the wire labeled ground from interloc trans. That point i don't have a connector. I put new harnesses in my car and am not getting power at the ignition switch.

Just checked my car. On mine it's a brown wire with a yellow tracer that comes from the NSS harness. It's the plug on the bottom left of the bulkhead connector looking at the firewall from the front.

There is a separate harness for the interlock, one if automatic, a different one if manual.

The ground for the relay to operate is from the transmission if auto, clutch switch if manual.

I'm going to go out on a limb here but I believe not many 4 speed folks have this hooked up.

Makes more sense with an Auto.

Well, a repo clutch switch is about $350. So you might be right....
