Engine electricals fixed, let it roar!
« on: September 20, 2012 - 02:39:15 AM »
Finally... for the first time since March the engine ran, the blinkers still don't work but hey, the engine goes so who cares! The roar of a V8 is so satisfying and is a sound which people shouldn't go without for such long periods of time!
Back in March I started a full wiring overhaul which has been a learning experience to say the least. I went from a non-functional, poorly wired full stock system to;
Painless performance full replacement wiring harness
MSD 6AL ignition control unit
MSD Blaster 2.0 coil
MSD 8534 distributor
MSD spark plug wires
E3 spark plugs which are going to be replaced with some Champions.
Had a stock starter, bearing blew out and it turned into a shrapnel canon. Now MSD hi-torque mini starter. Damn that thing is small.

Here's a link to it running. I'm aware it's in need of a tune. The slight smoke coming out of the engine bay is engine oil I spilled on the exhaust manifold.
