stage 6 heads

I found a set stage 6 heads that have been surfaced and intake seat repaired  68cc standard port size straight plug .. the guy wants $1000 is this a good or bad deal?

Do You have a picture? Does it have the stock length valves or longer? Stock rocker gear?   There were a few versions of this head is why I ask. I used them in my 451" build . Working great so far!

If they have been repaired right then Its an ok deal I guess. I can't quite tell but looking at the springs if they have been sunk into the head about 1/2" then they are set up for stock valves. Mine I bought as a raw casting and I finished them. If you use longer than stock valves and coresponding valve spring depth pockets then that allows you to take/port at least .150" off the roof ( making the ports taller)  which really picks up the flow.
The other reason I like these heads on a "B" block is that it allows you to use a 440 intake. Which will give you a little more volume and more intake choices.  The ports have a ton of material in them so you can port them like you need.  I raised my exhaust ports .150 as the gasket allowed .
The add says it include spacers, so I assume the valley tray is for a "RB" block . When you use these heads on a 440 then you need the spacers.

I'd ask what dia valve stems? I assume stock 3/8" = heavy as compared to 11/32 valve stems = lighter
See if he will send you a picture with a better view of the valve springs? Also what valve springs did he use? Might work for you intended useage? maybe not?
What was "repaired" did a valve seat need to be changed?

I forgot the most important thing.... ask for a picture of the casting mark ( between the valves) . Ask if it's the early or late casting? if it's the earlier casting walk away as they are reported to have porosity issues?
