What's the best way to clean SE textured paint on the tail panel and grill area?

The textured paint, especially in the area of the tail panel is darkened, most likely due to 100K miles of exhaust soot.

What's the best way to clean that with out damaging or loosening it?

I have a fear that too much mechanical agitation will cause sections to lift or peel off.

Soap/water and a sponge.  Don't rub it.  You could also try a very very soft toothbrush in a hidden area to see what it does.

New argent is usually sprayed with a clear coat to protect it.  Once the argent is clean, you could spray a clear on it.

I'd send Slotts a PM and ask him . I know when he did my grille. He couldn't clearcoat it because it would lift.

Thanks.  I was thinking about the toothbrush, and dish soap is a good idea.  In parallel, I'll contact Slots and see what he can offer.

I would try simple Green diluted and a really soft brush.

I agree with Topcat, simple green should suck up the grease and not hurt the paint.
