Restoring my 70 Challenger Convertible and we are getting to the point that requires some fine details. The car was an original base 318 but I am "upgrading" it to a 340 six pack and SE trim.
Three questions:
The first question is the trunk molding. I know that the 70 deck molding was unique to that year only and 71 and up had an extra ridge in them. What I cannot seem to find is a pic of an original molding and I have had three vendors send me a 70 repro that looks nothing like the smooth one I remember taking off the car. Any original pics would be helpful.
Second question is the lid for the 340 Six Pack. My manifold, Carbs and air cleaner are all from an original TA car engine that I have owned since 1974. I know that there is a specific orange color just for the air cleaner lid but the underside of my top lid looks to be originally black. Is this correct or did the factory spray both sides orange.
Third, I have power front disc brakes. The Booster is black. I have seen most master cylinders in raw and silver lids but I thought the correct way for a Challenger was all gloss black
Thanks!!
