Kick Down Linkage Adjustment where do I set the adj on the carb. Long slot.

Where do I set the kick down linkage. In the center of the long slot ? Do I set the shaft at Idle with the shaft touching the throttle rod? Does it only touch at full throttle ? I would appreciate the help with this setting.

linkage has to be pushed all the way back at full throttle.

 & if it shifts too late then back it off a couple of turns
