Installing headers on a 69 GTX??????
« on: December 08, 2012 - 08:47:03 PM »
I know this is an E Body site, but I thought you guys would have some valuable advice for a buddy of mine.
He's looking at putting headers on his 69, 440 GTX. I suspect it will be a true pain in the neck to install.
Soooo.... I guess there are a number of factors to look at.
Best Performance?
Easiest to install?
Best clearance?
Best to get a good seal ( avoid exhaust leaks)?
Will he have to go to the mini starter?
THANKS for any help!!!

If he has the budget TTI's have the best rep for fitting well?

First choice - TTI
 2nd -  Dougs
Don't waste your $ on cheap headers , you will regret it

My buddy saw an article in Mopar Muscle Magazine, it showed a gain of 70 HP / Torque !!!
It was done by Hedman...

I wonder what planet that was tested on , or maybe he had 2" single exhaust before the headers
