Idle Characteristics of the Voodoo 60304 and 60303 cams?
« on: October 04, 2012 - 01:07:28 PM »
What are the idle characteristics and street maners of the Voodoo 60303 and 60304 cams in a healty 440?   I currently have a 440 +.030, 10:1 compression with flat top TRWs, OOTB Edlebrock 84CC heads, Street Dominator, Headers, 4-speed, 3.91 gears with 28" tall tires  in a 73 Cuda.  This is a street car.     My current cam is a comp cams XE285HL and the idle is very rough (for my likes).   I am pretty sure the cam is a 241/247 duration at .050 and has .545 lift on both intake and exhaust.  I am running 1.5 stock style rockers as well.

My current cam revs fast and pulls hard, but is rough at idle and has low vac.

How would the voodoo 303 and 304 compare to this cam and would I loose any power making a change?  What are the idle charastics of these cams in a motor like mine?   I alos think that I would like to go to 3.55's at some point too for driveability.

Thanks in advance.

No one have any experience with these Voodoo cams?  I thought that the 60303 and the 60304 were popular cams?

I have generally used solid custom grinds .
I know a lot of people have used the VooDoos , , they should have decent idle vacuum but I do not have specific examples we used one in a 436 CI 383 stroker , idles very well

Thanks for the reply.  Do you have a video or audio file of your car idling and reving up?  Would love to hear that 03 Cam.

Haney:
Sorry for my late respond to your question .
Been working ,  i have my own transport company and is away 4- 5 days in a row to norway :)

I can try to do a short movie how my 413 idles maybee during this  weekend ,
I think a 440 will do just fine whit 60303 lunati.
The guys who has more experience compare this cam to comp xe 274  in the treads i looked in when i desided to use it.
I`ll be back ...
