Just installed Holley electric billet fuel pump (12-700) and billet regulator (12-845) with return to tank. Fired car and pressure gauge says 12 PSI. Thought for sure gauge crapped out - purchased new one and still reads 12. When car initially starts pressure is at 9PSI and increases to 12psi within about 15 seconds. Fuel system is run like this:
- 1 foot of-10 braid line from 1/2" pickup on stock tank to 100 micron filter which is directly attached to elec pump.
- then roughly 3 feet -8 braid to 10 micron filter
- then -8 braid up to regulator on fender and - 8 to carb
- -6 braid continuous return to tank.
When I remove the return line from the tank and run into gas can(very carefully) the pressure still starts at 9PSI and increases to about 11PSI and I get great flow to can. I cannot seem to decrease the regulator down below 9 PSI. I think I may have a dud regulator or perhaps -6 return line restricting or......................
?? Just once I wish I could install a performance upgrade and just drive the dam car
