I suppose it could be done , the big problem is getting to all the rod caps & getting them out of the way ., not so bad coming out but going back in would be very difficult , you would have to hold a 75 lb crank up while positioning the rods so the crank could be held up with the caps . It would be easier if the heads were off so the pistons could be removed & then re-installed after the crank is in place .

yes.  It can be done.  I have done it, when I was young and crazy.  Trust me, it is far better to pull the motor and replace the crank on a engine stand.

Pull the engine out,  1 to 1 1/2 hrs and it could be on the engine stand.

You don't what to do bottom end work on your back,  you will be cursing up a storm..

That way you can clean and paint it too...
