problem emailing pictures
« on: November 01, 2012 - 09:48:37 PM »
OK, I admit I'm a luddite, or moron or what ever. lol. When ever I see a cool picture, and want to email it to myself, a dialog box pops up and says I need to launch it with an application. This usually lists 3 different applications. I click on the firefox.exe one, and it just opens another screen that has the same dialog box with no instructions. My old computer with windows xp died. I have a new computer with windows 7. In xp, all I had to do was send it to my hotmail address and everything was good. This has me baffled, and feeling old and useless! lol. HELP! Anyone? Thank you.

What I do, which I find easier, is to just right click on the image and select "Save Image."

Yes, that will put it on my desktop, where I can move it into a folder to save, but I don't neccesarily want to save it, I like to email it to myself, then be able to add a message and send it to a recipient. I don't like sending emails/photographs to people blind. I'd rather send them to myself first, and then send them on. XP I never had a problem doing this. Ever. Windows 7, about 3/4 of the pics I want to email to myself has a dialog box pop up that says I need an application to open, and they list yahoo, firefox or gmail, and sometimes others. I can't just send them to myself.
