Looking for value of 72 barracuda
« on: November 19, 2012 - 08:57:27 PM »
Hi everyone,

I'm looking to buy a local 72 barracuda coupe. It's originally a 6cyl auto car now converted to 4 spd with 318. It needs a rear quarter and the inner fenders. I'll get pics tomorrow. Not a show car but will run and drive with little effort. Everything is all there, just need some TLC. Frame rails are good, mainly it's the body that needs some work

What's the price range for a 72 in this  condition????

Thank you!!!

It's hard to give a price range with such little information.
What state are you in?
What color was the car originally?
Does it have a build sheet?

Make sure you get the fender tag readout.

Are all the floors still intact?
2K-12K depending

it is a BH23 car, no fender tag. I was disappointed but I know it originally came with a 6cyl and automatic now has 318 and 4 speed with pistol grip. Car is currently black and seems like it always was black. Black interior

It is in much worse shape than I originally thought. see pictures in link below

what would you value this at?? it runs and drives but the body needs work. floors are OK, they need work in some areas. Inner rear fenders are no good and need to be replaced

Needs rear quarters, roof, dutchman, ft doglegs at minimum, and with all that water in it, I bet trunk pan and floor pans.
I wouldn't give more than 2k for the whole car. Just my opinion though.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

You will spend twice what that car will be worth when it's done to get it to that point. Find a better car.

I think it would be a great parts car it might be worth buying if you could get it cheap. Then find a car with a solid body to build off. It's got a nice grill, 4 speed setup, interior stuff, trim etc..... A good couple of grand worth of parts there.

with that many holes in the rear half of the car ,I would bet my left wooden shoe trunkfloor and rear framerails are toast.  Anything can be fixed, but....

Thanks guys, I'll get it up on a lift and see how bad the underneath is. What would you offer him if you were me? $2k?? More?

The grill has a crack in it but can be fixed

Probably 3K in parts.

That vinyl roof was definitely the demise of that car.   It's really too bad.

Looks like it was originally Gold.  Look where the vinyl roof was pulled back.

It could be fixed, but it really depends on whether or not you find any rust in the other areas we can not see.
