Okay,
My '73 Challenger currently has a the 3 spd floor shift manual transmission. The way the stock shifter is configured reverse is where 1st is in a modern car. This wouldn't be an issue if my brain hadn't experienced years of modern gear positioning. As I'm just envisaging myself sitting at the traffic lights one day, brain in autopilot, putting the Chally into reverse (thinking it's 1st) and gunning it into the car behind when the lights go green. Does anybody know of a shifter for sale that has some kind of gate for reverse gear, ie the gear stick has to be pushed down to get into reverse or some such other blocking mechanism?
