E-body AM/FM restored
« on: August 19, 2012 - 06:09:39 PM »
I have a Thumbwheel AM/FM Barracuda radio that I need to get restored. Its a Phillips. Wards said they no longer restore Phillips radios  :swear: , so I'm wondering out here who can tell me who does a good job of restoring these? Its not for sale, I need this one for my ride.

May want to consider putting the non working original back in the dash for show and mounting a new stereo up under the dash connected to new front and rear speakers (with a remote) for great sound!  While you are at it, also consider installing FatMat or other sound deadner to the interior sheet metal.  Mine now sounds like I am in a concert hall!

Here are a few to check out.  I have no personal experience with any of them.

Thanks for the responces, I will check these guys out. The car right now is not ready to drive either, so turn around time I can wait. Thanks for the tips as well for better sound, most likely will do something to that nature, but I want tunes for longer trips. As for short drives around town, I'd rather hear that rumble under the hood than tunes in the dash.

Did you find a place or use one of the 3 listed links. I have a phillips am/fm  thumbwheel that needs reconditioning for my 70 challenger. Just want know if you found a reliable place.

Thanks

Got a hold of taymanelectrial. He's only a couple hours up the road from me.
Hope to get it to him soon.
