Mountain Shadows---Sun Rise

I couldn't resist posting this picture taken this morning as the sun came up over Puget Sound. The dark streaks resembling contrails are shadows cast on to the clouds by Mount Rainer on the left and Mount Adams on the right. Mt Adams is not visible without binoculars but cast it's shadow quite vividly. This is the first time in my 50+ years living here that I've seen a shadow cast by Mt Adams. Rainer does it frequently but to get both of them in one shot is rare. A colorful sunrise like this is very fleeting, lasting only a couple of minutes with full color.

This picture shows Mt Adams, almost invisible to the left, and it's shadow to the right. Turns out I was not the only person viewing the shadow phenomenon since a couple of TV stations are showing them as well.
