How to identify a cast from a forged crank?

I have a lead on a forged 340 crank, but I have no idea how to tell the difference. Any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, like the pic in that link shows the counterweights are rounded on forged cranks.  When I bought my 340 the seller showed me where I could tell that the crank was forged since it had the rounded off counterweights.  The crank in it does, so I'm guessing he was correct and that's what my 340 has.

All factory forged cranks will have the wide parting line and the
cast crank will have the narrow parting line. It's the same for all crankshafts.

You can tell by ear, if you tap a forged crank with a hammer it will hum like a tuning fork. A cast crank will make a dull thud-like sound. Only on the counterweights thou! I' ll post a video shortly.

There are markings on the crank as well which will tell you if it's a cast or forged.

On B and RB cranks the cast ones have a clocking mark on the crank. Kind of looks like a clock dial with a pointer in the middle like a small clock hand. This comes rom one of Chuck Senatore's books.
