Paint code
« on: January 12, 2013 - 09:42:06 AM »
I have a black 74 Challenger. The inset on the fender louvers and the words 'four barrel' on the side of the hood scoops is painted, what I would call, a burnt orange. It's a little duller than hemi orange. I want to paint the brake calipers the same colour. Does anyone have a paint code for this colour so I can get a match?

Do you need a paint code for the standard hemi orange color.

Or for the color that is on your car now, the burnt orange color?

Deep Burnt Orange Metallic is coded FK5 in 1970.

I wouldn't call it a metallic colour. It's rather low lustre. The car was repainted in it's past before I owned it so it might not even be a Mopar colour. I'm sure your familiar with the hood emblems that go on the side of the scoops that say 340 FOUR BARREL. That's the orange I'm trying to match.

Ok, I think the original color is ev2.   Hemi orange.

However, if ma mopar used a special color on the insignia's that is different then I am unsure.

Bump to an expert.
