Hullo there...
« on: December 27, 2012 - 09:19:21 AM »
 :working:
My name is Raam from Johannesburg, SA.
I have a 1968 Barracuda and I am looking to chat to some people in the know to assist me to get my car in top notch shape.
In SA, it is called a Valiant Barracuda, whereas in other parts of the world it known as the Plymouth Barracuda.

Welcome :)
Nice looking car.  Did you restore it or get it that condition?  Be cool to see some more pictures of the badging to see what else is different from the North American version.

Welcome to cuda-challenger. I'd like to see some more pics of that car. Nice color.

"usraptr" = United States raptor - bird of prey = United States Bald Eagle.  FYI, somebody else thought of it first so I had to drop the "O" in raptor.

Welcome, I see the valiant badging on the nose thats cool. The first generation of North American Barracuda's were fastback Valiants and were Valiant Baracuda's.The Barracuda spun off and became it's own A body model in 67. The Valiant remained and in 1970 the Valiant Duster was born. Then in 70 the Barracuda transformed into the E body platform to compete in the ponycar market.

There were also some Mopars built for Mexican production and the names and badging differered too.

Allpar.com might be a good source of info for you.

Is your car right hand drive. I know we'd all love to see pics of your car, to include the factory variations from it's American version.
