1970 Challenger standard Cluster a01 harness?
« on: March 26, 2013 - 03:07:18 AM »
Hi guys im away from my challenger for few months and cant look under the dash myself. So i was wondering if anyone knows if the standard cluster wire harness for a 70 challenger already has the a01 harness wired in and just needs the sockets etc for plug and play. this car did not come with the a01 to begin with..

thanks in advance..

I'll start out by saying I have no clue, BUT isn't the A01 package just a light package that has a bunch of bullet plugs that plug in to open 3 hole power sources?  I haven't done a standard dash in a long time, but I think the rallye dashes have the extra plugs ready to go.

I hope someone that knows for sure will chime in.
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Asked my girlfreind to take a peek under the dash n poke around for me. I have the ash tray lamp, 70 correct ingnition lamp, map light that I collected over the years. Have a option to pick up the map light harness with time delay. I might grab it anyway just incase.

Thanks guys for the reply.

When I get back home ill post a answer on the outcome just for fyi.

Mine has the standard dash and had two bullet plug receptacles under the dash, one was orange and if I remember right( it's been awhile) the other was gray? Not sure of the gray but it was a different colour.

some of the AO1 harness plugs into the yellow door switch harness for power for the timer etc so it should be there .

Thanks guys I think we got it all squared away. Being the loving understanding girlfreind she is, she cracked open my service manual looked at the wire diagrams for me scanned and sent me copies to my email and poked around under the dash at 2 in the morning. long story short  it has the bullet connections all i need to complete the setup is the map light harness which i picked up today. Thanks guys with your info and hers we got it all taken care of.

As a side note I think one of the best purchases I ever made was the 70 service manual.
