Heater Control Cable
« on: February 09, 2013 - 06:10:03 PM »
All,
I am trying to install the heater control cable in my 74 Challenger (no A/C). Each time I try connecting it to the heater controls, the cable wants to kink as I try to operate the controls.  I must be doing something wrong, maybe restraining the cable end incorrectly.  Does anybody have any installation tips?   It is a brand-new cable.

I assume the door moves freely with the cable disconnected ?
the cable end should pinch under the spring retainer clip & be inline with the lever

Yes the door moves freely when the cable is disconnected.
