You guys have so much better suggestions than me.     :smilielol:
I'm considering some of your suggestions myself.

I'm curious how Josh/Johannes would purchase a car here, register it here, and insure it here without being a citizen.   Can it work like that ?

1500.00 liability is ridiculous.  Was that an American company or was that a foreign insurance company?

American Company ,it is very difficult for foreigners to get insurance for their cars brought here from another country, but if they drive an american car here it is different

If your here the first week of June you should do the Hot Rod Power Tour. Its a 1500 mile 7 day 6 city traveling car show.
Check out some of the cool stuff you can do and see http://www.hotrod.com/eventcoverage/hot_rod_power_tour/
its a different rout every year so 2014 hasn't been announced yet.

I would also suggest Mopars at the Park and Mopars at the strip and http://www.carsatcarlisle.com/ce/events/chrysler-nationals/ for detestation cool car show places.

I think Woodward would be great, it's a week full of fun even if you left before the official Saturday cruise. I've heard great things about this stretch of road too

... I brought my Dutch '70 Challenger for my ultimate dream trip through USA (& Canada) last fall.
We created a Facebook page for the part we did together.

I'm well impressed.
I even forced my wife to show me your facebook page....as I'm NOT on facebook....yet.
Will indeed look into what possibilites there might be to meet up.
Now I will have to take into account the preferences by the rest of my family,...so I can't go ALL MOPAR for the whole trip...

THANKS FOR ALL THE INPUT.
I will focus on shipping first I guess,...and decide whether to bring a car or not.
The suggestion of renting a new challenger is indeed a possibility...

Do you have a general route in mind?  Some "must see" attractions?  it would be easier to suggest things close to your existing route.  For example if you'll be near me in New England, you can see the Maine coast, get some "lobstah" see Boston and the historical sites, cruise through NYC etc.  Make one lap of the USA, swing through the south and see Pedro at South of the border, hit the Wellborn car museum and Cooters place.  Head on down Rt 1 through Miami to Key West.  Head west through Louisiana and Texas end up in California and ride the Pacific Coast Highway to Canada!  There is tons and tons to see and do if you keep your eyes and ears open.  Military museums, Don Garlits Drag racing museum, worlds biggest ball of twine etc.

Word of advice:  Keep the wife and kid happy or you'll end up with a miserable trip!
Yes I own a 1972 Dodge Challenger Convertible T/A S/E with a 440 Six Pak. Can it get any more wrong?

1970 Dodge Coronet 440 "Zom Bee"
1972 Dodge Challenger convertible 440 5 speed.
1973 Dodge Challenger 318 "Brown Bomber"
2012 Dodge Challenger R/T Classic Blackberry Pearl.
2001 Jeep Wrangler locked, lifted and lighted.  "Jeep is a registered trademark of Chrysler Corporation"

1'st) At the moment, the only "must" is atleast ONE big carshow.
Preferably one that last for more than a weekend, and maybe has amusements for children somewhere close ???
Does not have to be a MOPAR show,...as long as there will be some MOPARS there.

2'nd. Shipping wise, I've recently learnt that east coast is FAR  :scared: cheaper than west coast.
I'm curious what sort of things can be experienced not too far off the east coast?

If anyone can recommend a route, that will take me past museums, parks, shows, thats what I'm after....
Maybe there is a book available ?
Even better, a map where you type in a time window, and all shows (Annual/weekly,etc..) will show up, preferably with a rating.

As an example, you can buy a magazine in Sweeden, with all shows listed.
This has photos, info, rating, facilities, etc... and comes out once a year...

If you want to do a big car show then I have to reiterate the Woodward Dream Cruise in Detroit. You will see, literally, thousand of cars, maybe tens of thousands of cars.

If you go to Carlisle, you have Hershey Park ( amusement park. And chocolate world ) close by. Dutchwonderland is close by.but geared for smaller children.  Lots of outlet stores in Hershey and Lancaster for the wife.  You also have the. Gettysburg battlefields close. And the old Lincoln Highway US 30 . ( some stuff kinds like Route 66). You should be able to goggle up all of this to find more info.  Hope this helps.  :2thumbs:

This!

I've been considering bringing one of my cars over and doing the Vanishing Point trek Roland did, but the Hot Rod Power Tour is looking like the goods.
