What orange paint to use on the 72-4 cuda grille

I am going to freshen a couple 72-4 cuda grilles and I wasn't sure if I could buy a pretty close orange at the local parts store or do I need to buy the $30.00 a can stuff.  thx in advance

I've been asking this same question for a long time. No one seems to know.  :clueless:
If I cant fix it, it's broke

I"ll try something next week and let you know what I use.  It reminds me of cheap cheavy orange.

I used a PlastiKote 1019 Chrysler poppy red bc
You can see the colour in my resto thread.

The colour is a little bright but it looks good.

The grille looks fantastic. But I'm looking for a color a bit closer to original. Thanks.

I used VHT sp119 orange-red.  Looked spot on to my original

That looks great. What was the trick to the crisp paint lines. Looks like a fantastic job.

The approach I took to painting the grille was this:  First I washed, scuffed (all the prep work) and taped off the argent and grate area so I could spray the orange-red and not get extra paint anywhere else and let it set for a day.  Next, I taped off the orange with fine line tape and shot the black.  Then finally, I used medium argent texture grille paint from penstar.
