R22 code am thumb wheel 8track Radio

Hello CC members;

You seem to know quit a bit about these cars 1970 barracuda gran coupe and I was hoping if you wouldn't mind answering a few questions for me. and my question is If from factory a 70gc came with the R22 code am thumb wheel 8track  what/how many speakers in the dash?? and was there always a rear speaker fader switch?? and what would be the difference between a rallye dash to the standard gran coupe wood grain dash for this radio option??

P.S.  I already know the differences between the challenger and the barracuda 8track radio bezels but that's about it!!

Rear speakers were always an option.  You could get any of the radio options with or without rear speakers.

I believe R22 is a "stereo" option.  If it has a balance dial, it must be stereo.  If it was one of the stereo options then it came with 3 in the dash and optional 2 rear.  If it was a mono, then it came with 1 in the dash and an optional 1 in the package tray (on the drivers side).

If you have the rear speaker knob, you can tell the difference between the stereo and mono knobs.  Also if you have a cross over box, then it was a stereo config.

If there is any grand coupe owners out there with rallye dash with the am 8track thumb wheel radio option R22 could you please let me know what you have for the dash speakers 3spk or 1 and if you have the rear speaker fader switch?and where its located.

Our car has the 8-track, three-speaker dash, and two rear speakers.  It has the fader switch and the crossover box by the ashtray, and it has R22 on the fender tag.

It is a factory rallye dash.  The car is a BS23 Cuda but it came with a lot of the GC options like the overhead console, leather seats, and the 8-track.
