Rear schocks
« on: February 18, 2013 - 07:39:06 PM »
Looking for rear shocks that will keep my rear tires, 245 245 18, from hitting the tires. Trying to find some that are firm without the jacked up look. Many thanks, Mark

shocks do not hold up your car, springs do. If you need to raise it a little you need to add leafs, change springs, rearch what you have, etc. Only shock to raise the rear would be air shocks, stay away from them.

Wlcome , I hope the tires do not hit the tires too often LOL
A stiffer shock like a KYB may help as the extra resisitance can help to lift the body , but as stated above the springs keep the body up not the shocks

I picked up a pair of edelbrocks a few years ago, and I'm very happy with them. They replaced a pair of air shocks the prior owner used to give extra clearance on his BFG TA's. It had that 70s jacked up look, which I'm not fond of on ebodies. Just not my thing.
I actually love that look on most b bodies for some reason though. Not sure why.
