Recore a rad...
« on: December 12, 2014 - 01:06:37 PM »
wow, just got a quote to recore a 22in rad and wow  :money: :money: :money: :money: :money: :money:

Guy gave me a ballpark of $400...really...are you serious.

Man I can buy a new rad or a new aluminum rad for less than that.

Is it really that expensive to have a rad recored.

15 years ago I was charged $90.

So, with inflation, $135
72 Cuda, owned 25 years. 496, with ported Stage VI heads, .625 in solid roller, 254/258 at .050, 3500 stall, 3.91 rear. 850 Holley DP, Reverse manual valve body.

1999 Trans Am, LS1, heads, cam, headers, stall, etc! Love to surprise the rice rockets with this one. They seem so confident, then it's "what the heck just happened?"

Local Shop in Waterloo, Redi Rad.

Alan, can you give me a ball park on the cost?

Thanks Murray.  I am in no hurry, I was just trying to see what it would cost.

can probably get an aluminum from Summit for close to the price of a recore.

That's cheap!

I paid way more for my 26" 959 to be re done.
They knew it was a rare monster I think was partly why.

maybe I'm mistaken.
What does recore mean?

I musta been thinking about cleaning and rodding out, not replacing the tubes
and fins.
