Bleed new power steering pump?
« on: March 16, 2005 - 10:23:01 AM »
Quick question for you all -

I have replaced my power steering pump, can I fill and go or do I need to bleed the system?
Never have realy heard of or done this before, but the instructions say to do so ( yes I read them and I'm a man - scarry isn't it )

Don't want to take any chances with my new goodies.

Thanks!

I recommend you flush the old stuff out of the system first then fill and bleed the system . Take the return line off the pump and run a qt of fluid thru the pump then reattach and bleed the air out by turning lock to lock  several times.
