Challenger window install, where do these go?
« on: March 31, 2013 - 06:20:15 AM »
70 Challenger, driver's side window glass.

After taking apart the glass to remove it, I find these 2 pieces laying in the bottom of the door. Pretty sure they weren't there when I started.

Looks like a metal spacer with a rubber gasket & 1/4" rubber spacer.

Any ideas what these dropped out of and where they go?

Thx

The rubber spacer goes in the small hole in the glass where the stud goes thru.It is there to protect the glass from the metal part of the stud.

Those are one of the most important part of the window/regulator assembly. Without them in place there is 100% chance you'll shatter the door glass....trust me....been there and done that years ago !

They MUST go between the horizontal track and the glass at the rear mount shown in the above picture.

On the front of the horizontal track you'll have a phillips head machine thread bolt that screws into a plastic retainer mounted in the glass itself. At the rear of the horizontal track you'll have a 7/16 head bolt that goes through the track, through that raised flat washer, the rubber hose, the glass and threads into the retainer rear track guide plate shown in the above photo.

Installing E Body side glass is one of my favorite things to do  :clapping:

Thanks for the help, that makes sense now.

I'll get these put back in with the new glass.
