71-74 Charger pedal set in e-body?
« on: May 30, 2013 - 08:25:04 AM »
Somebody recently told me that these will interchange, including the mounting bracket, and it's just the pedal shape and size that is different. True?

True , a lot of the 71 Charger & RR used the same parts as the E body which puzzles me why I cannot get a nibble on selling my Charger but if it was 1 year older I could have sold it 100 times over . now here is the question , I need a set of the 71 Charger pedals , so if you have a set available & would be willing to buy a set of the Challenger ones to replace the Charger ones

My pedals supposedly came out of a 71 Coronet. The main mounting bracket was different, but the pedals and side bracket that supports the clutch pedal bolted right on to my existing main bracket.

Not sure where you guys get your information, but I've restored lots of E Bodies in my time and a couple of 71 Chargers as well.
Although you MIGHT be able to make 71 Charger pedals fit into an E Body....They are nothing alike and certainly not the same part....They mount in the car differently, the steering column mounts to them differently, etc...The four speed bracket may be the same, but I don't think it is....Lot of mis-leading info here....  :o
I've taught you everything you know.....but I haven't taught you everything I know !

I recall the Pedals fit , the upper mount was different but there is no reason the change it as it is not unique to 4 spd or auto , you should be able to swap the pedals & support side braket into the E body mount , my appilogies if this is misleading
