Midland Ross Power Brake Boost 73 Cuda
« on: April 22, 2013 - 11:50:59 PM »
Here's my story....Have a 73 Cuda and ordered a rebuilt Cardone Brake Boost with plans to rebuild my original after I got the new unit.  Cardone's unit is a Bendix style and mine is the Midland Ross.  I don't want to change the style so I decided I would just send mine to Booster Dewey for rebuild.  I was trying to decide whether or not to have it replated.  Mine was painted blue about 30 years ago, so I needed to strip the paint to see what was underneath.  I took the unit apart to remove the paint (only a small spring in this type of unit).  The only problem with my unit is the front seal on the master cylinder side is shot, so rather than send it our for full rebuild - I would like to just replace the seal and have the unit powder coated.  Asked Booster Dewey to sell me a seal and he won't sell parts........ Does anybody have a source for this part????  Doesn't make much sense to spend $140 when all I need is a seal.  anyone have a shot unit with a good used seal?  Any ideas?  Thanks!
