Curb weight of a 1970 Cuda with a 340
« on: April 21, 2013 - 09:25:48 PM »
Just out of curiosity what is the reported weight of a 70' Cuda with a 340?  I have come across 4-5 different published numbers ranging from 2790 - 3655 w/o indicating what options were included.

My guess was 3200-3400 so I'm close. I'm doing some work on mine right now but when I finish I will take it to a scale and see what it is.

Please post the results.
I'm guessing the Challengers are ~100lbs more?

Why? I thought the Cudas and Challies were almost the same (save for obvious aesthetic differences). Are the cosmetic differences what make the weight difference?

Wheelbase is 2" longer
That and I think they add more weight to Challenger to slow it down so the Cuda owners don't cry when they get beat all the time. :stirpot: :poopoke: :roflsmiley:

That's true right there!  :2thumbs: Be careful about pokin' fun at 'cuda owners Brad. They get sensitive and cranky when the superiority of the Challenger is pointed out.  :grinyes:

I weighed my Challenger on a truck scale when it had a 318 and a 727 and it rang in at 3550 pounds.

3550, ouch, that's heavy for SB. Can't imagine the 340 would be much different.
AC car?

Mine was 3840  ish ( can't remember exactly) with me in the car . I will weight it again soon as I have my own scales now. I expect it to be lighter going from a cast iron headed 440 to a 400/451 with aluminum heads?

Nope!
The console added a lot of weight though!
