« on: April 26, 2013 - 10:39:19 AM »
Are the 70-74 Cuda trunk lock, rods and covers the same? or, is 70-71 different than the 72-74?

Ok....Here we go...

There are three different trunk lock rod covers. One for 1970, one for 1971 (very similar and will interchange) Then there is a trunk lock rod cover for 1972 -1974 Which is the same all three years, but will NOT fit 1970-71.

There are two different trunk lock rods. One for 1970-1971  Then there is a trunk lock rod for 1972 -1974 Which is the same all three years, but will NOT fit 1970-71. The later one (72-74) is shorter.

The levers and clips on the rods are the same all five years.

The trunk lock cylinders are the same from 1970- early1973. Late 1973 and 1974 are different and will not fit the other years.

70-71's are available in reproduction from AMD as we discussed yesterday.

Used rods can be found on EBay. Just make sure the seller knows what he/she is talking about. If you know you have a 72-74, measure the length and ask the seller for the measurement of theirs. It needs to be longer. :2cents:

I don't think so. There are some on EBay right now.  http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mopar-Nice-USED-70-71-Cuda-Trunk-Lock-Rod-and-Lever-/370651466879?pt=Vintage_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item564c8c8c7f&vxp=mtr#ht_2891wt_814      :screwy: price

If you were close buy, I probably have a used one, but I'm not into shipping sorry...

I'm in Denver... I'd give you $50 if you'd consider mailing it? I'd rather keep the $ in the forum, if you know what i mean...

Don't buy a rod.  Just make one out of some 3/16" rod.  You'll have plenty of other opportunities to spend money on the car.
