SO after spending 3 hours last night cleaning paint out of the LCA and UCA bushing holes, tapers and the ball joint threads, I find that one of the UCA bushing holes is slightly oversized adn the bushing just goes in by hand.

I fixed that, collapsed the hole a bit.

I go to mount the arm and it looks like it is bent.  Its a 1/4 inch wider then the other...CRAP!!!!!

I do not think I can get it into position at all.  I wonder it it bent trying to get the Ball joint out????

I have a spare arm so I can get the car back on the ground fro my upcoming move, but what a pain.

I also need to replace the K-fram, but I think I will wait untill after I move now.

At least the LCA poly bushings went in ok.

I think I may bite the bullet and by some tubular UCAs....at least they shoudl fit!!!

Thanks, just needed to vent!!

Edit..should have read more closely.  I thought there was a problem with the LCA.

One of my cam bolts was seized in the UCA'S and had to be torched off.  When trying to reinstall that arm, it had spread open about 1\4".  I put a block of wood onto one of the ears and pounded it inplace.  So far I haven't had an issue.

Yes, the factory upper control arms can flex when pressing bushings in and out etc...
I would just hit it on the ground real hard wack it with a hammer...It won't take much effort...They're not as strong as you think

Well, things are looking up...I think.

I managed to get the arm in, just took a little force, we will see if everything holds.

:iagree:
I think they need a little more tlc than the factory arms. Not designed as a part that would last thousands of street miles? More for Auto-X where the adjustability is a big benefit. :2cents:
