Z-bar seals

Anyone have a fool-proof method to install z-bar ball pivot seals?

lube & strong fingers or a socket that just slides over the ball

I used grease and it ruined the shape of the seal.

Thanks for the suggestions. I will try silicone lube. Since seals are silicone, this should work out well.
