Front Bumper -71 Challenger
« on: October 14, 2008 - 02:28:31 PM »
My Dodge have the jack slots on the front bumper and i have heard there were three diffrent front bumpers on the -71 year model .
Is that true??? My car was built in 22 January 1971 .
If i´m going to order new bumpers do i have to take the -72 front bumper and the 70-71 rear.????

It´ a little bit strange  :hyper:

Thanks/ Hezzel

As was mentioned, the only difference between a 70-71, and a 72 bumper, is the slots. They use the same brackets. Fellow member Purple1 has a 71 with bumpers with the slots.  :screwy: It's a minor difference really.

2 different bumpers for the 71 year Challengers. The 70-71 (no slots) bumper. And the 72 style (slotted) bumpers. Some where durring the production year they changed to the slotted type.
As was mentioned, the only difference between a 70-71, and a 72 bumper, is the slots. They use the same brackets. Fellow member Purple1 has a 71 with bumpers with the slots.  :screwy: It's a minor difference really.

My car is a late 71 build. 323245 is my build number. As Mike said it came with sloted bumbers and the jack for them. The bumper jack supplied with the car will also be a good hint of what style was original.
Hope this helps.

I belive that June 71 was the crossover to slotted bumpers on the challenger.
