That's so wrong, and they get so much support from Ma' Mopar, not sure why it's not a gen 3 hemi

unless they are showing off the motor in the movie it doesn't bother me too much.  it was probably a cheap alternative.  im just glad they keep mopar in the spotlight, using the main badass character.  vin diesel scares me, and he drives a Daytona!  pretty cool id say.

since the custom tube frame cars they built (aka the heist cars) are powered by LS motors, I am guessing the decision to use the LS in the mopar was from a cost and ease of maintenance standpoint.  I am certainly not saying the LS motors require less maintenance, but rather, its probably easier to keep a fleet of cars all using the same motor alive during shoots opposed to several different styles.  Plus then you have extra parts cars on set.

That and they are dirt cheap to get going. $500 you could have the harness cut and computer flashed to run as opposed to gen 3 hemi
