Lead in Avgas is supposed to kill catalytic converters and O2 sensors.

True, the lead doesn't burn so when it makes it's way thru the exhaust to the sensors and cat. it sticks
and finally plugs the system. Same is true for the automotive gas. That's why it was removed from all gasoline back in the 70's.
If I cant fix it, it's broke

Lead in any kind of gas will give converters and O2 sensors.  That is not normally a problem in the cars that are the subject of this forum.

When it comes to wb O2 sensors, the NGK sensor will tolerate the lead in race gas for quite awhile when running in a closed loop system like FAST.

Here is the more serious problem with leaded gas.

Amazing how long the world has known about the dangers of lead and how hard it has been to eliminate it from general use.

when i had to use an octane booster with my 12 to 1 hemi belvedere i would mix 110 octane race gas that was compatible mixing with pump gas,,that would blend with it,not stay separate, some do and some dont,it was like 5 gallons mixed with 13 gallons to get rid of the det...nothing else worked..VP race gas i believe was one of the fuels that would mix with pump gas...

the 1st batch they carried from VP wouldn't mix but after that and all the user requests they switched VPfuels and no problems after that..except the cost    :eek4:
