It was a leading question there Mike... thanks for playing...

Maybe this is why it hasn't sold so fast eh?

Obviously it doesn't Bryan.

The car is a 72' and the engine is a 70' 340 T/A.
T/A blocks were made only one year and say T/A on it.

T/A blocks had wider crank webs provisioning for 4 bolt if desired plus the valvetrain/heads were different than other year 340's.

yeah but ive been working from sun up to sun down and just really havent wanted to go out in the cold garage with a flashlight LOL

where is the vin? its on the passenger side of the motor right? it was a real pain to get the #'s off the driver side to find out if it was a real TA block. Im interested to see if i can find the original owner of the engine tho

Cool. That would be great to put it back into the original car.

The number is on the passengers side, on a boss just above the oil pan mount.  Right about the middle of the block on the side.

Should be stamped  B  or BO ### ###

Curious to know.

also.... for the right price i could part with the T/A engine, if i could put a chunk of $ on the loan and put a replacement engine back together...

I'm still interested, but need the VIN off the T/A motor first.   :2thumbs:
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

Its too bad that the timing isn't better, if I was in America I would definitely be interested.  Alas I am too far away at the moment.  If this car sits around until next winter, you will most likely have a buyer, but I wont hold my breathe... Good luck on a sale.

That's one thing I'll give the Bowtie-Boys...they made it a heck of a lot easier to check the VIN stamp on the engine...they put it right on top of the block just below the front edge of the right side cylinder head. No crawling under the car or nothing. Just pop the hood and it's right there.
Cheers!

i agree on the t/a engine info,, i am looking for my org engine too. i had a 71 cuda that actually had a t/a engine in it and it was a warranty replacement block. but he would get more people interested if he would post the t/a engines pad info. the engine if its complete could bring an where from 5g to 9g,,just saying.
